Youth Hostel Berlin Ostkreuz

Located centrally in Berlin near the Ostkreuz station in the family friendly district of Lichtenberg lies the very modern Berlin Ostkreuz Youth Hostel. The Youth Hostel is run by the German Youth Hostel Association (DJH). Berlin Ostkreuz Youth Hostel will offer modern, state-of-the-art amenities and will welcome visitors to Berlin, families, school classes and groups. The Youth Hostel has 445 beds. All rooms have en-suite showers and toilets. There are rooms with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 beds. The Hostel boasts a friendly lobby area, cozy bistro and dining rooms where guests can take their booked meals (breakfast, half or full board), common rooms for leisure activities and 16 meeting rooms plus a large assembly hall for workshops, training courses or meetings - ideal conditions for all our guests.

Individual guests from the age of 27 years pay a surcharge of 5.00 € on the prices according to the price list.
For a stay of only one night, the price is increased by 5.00 € according to the price list.
On the area of the Youth Hostel there are parkings available, for a fee of 5 € per day. You get the parking permit at the check-in.

Location & Directions

Berlin Ostkreuz Youth Hostel, DJH's largest Hostel in Berlin, is located centrally in the city and an ideal starting point for every Berlin visitor who wants to experience the vibrant heartbeat of the German capital and discover its many sights. The good traffic connections make it easy to reach the city's attractions in a very short time. The Youth Hostel is located just steps away from the modern and recently refurbished S-Bahn and regional train station Ostkreuz, with train services operated by the Berlin public transport company all day and night. Ostkreuz is also a stop for the city's most important bus lines. Berlin's city centre and it sights such as Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstrasse, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Reichstag building are only a couple of stops away from Berlin Ostkreuz Youth Hostel.

On the yard of the youth hostel there is the award winning "Theater Strahl" with pedagogical offers. Guests of the youth hostel get a discount on the admission price for the stage performances (except premieres). The tickets are available at the reception.

Arrival by public transport
You can reach our Youth hostel from BER airport directly and without traffic jams in just 15 minutes from the airport train station underneath terminal 1.
Just take the airport express FEX, which is running every 30 minutes from 04:30 a.m. until midnight from the airport to the Ostkreuz station. Use the ABC fare.

You can also reach S-Bahnhof Ostkreuz with the tram lines S 41, 42 ("Ringbahn") as well as S 3, 5, 7, 8 and 75, Regional Express RE 1, 2 and 7 or Regionalbahn RB 12, 14, 24, 25 and 26. Choose Exit "Annemirl-Bauer-Platz/Sonntagstraße", turn right to "Neue Bahnhofstraße" and walk straight on to the end of the street. Turn right to "Boxhagener Straße", pass the underpass and then the crossways in "Kynaststraße" to go to "Marktstraße". The entrance of the Youth hostel is on the right side.

Barrier-free appointed youth hostel

The youth hostel is barrier-free and has 21 accessible rooms for single guests, families and groups. All rooms can be reached by elevator. The rooms are appointed as follows: single beds, barrier-free washbasin, shower fittings, shower chair, barrier-free toilet with support handle (according to E-DIN 18040).
